Environmental Design and Landscaping did a great job installing my patio pavers. The craftsmanship and communication was top notch.
I was very happy with the whole experience from the beginning to the end.
Environmental Design, has completed two projects for me. A walkway last year and a patio this year. My wife and could not be happier with the professionalism and the workmanship. I would recommend for any project.
Tom just finished our landscaping redesign. It truly was many hours or manual labor by both Tom & Mike. Tom was easy to work with and very patient as we made a few changes along the way. Our patio and yard are absolutely gorgeous. We are so pleased with his attention to detail. I would highly recommend Environmental Design & Landscaping for any project you may have. From helping me to pick out the proper colors to coordinate with an existing wall, and suggesting the right color to use for border, I couldn’t have done it without Toms suggestions. Elaine & Larry
We had extensive work done to our backyard, with a 80′ retaining wall built by Environmental Design and Landscaping being installed. The work included removing an existing wall built of rocks/boulders. The men arrived when they said they would but not too early as to annoy our neighbors. The work involved removing part of our fence, removing the boulders, building the retaining wall and rebuilding with beautiful blocks. The men were professional, taking care not to drive their heavy equipment on our patio. Every night they would clean the entire worksite and this included blowing any dirt off our patio and driveway. This extensive work took 2 men only 4 days to complete the wall and to return our yard to its previous condition; this involved repairing any sprinkler heads that may have been broken, replacing the portion of fence removed, backfilling behind the wall, planting grass seed and cleaning the yard to immaculate, pre-construction condition. They were very open to suggestions we had regarding the wall, including any design changes we had with no problem at all. I would recommend Environmental Design and Landscaping without hesitation. We are extremely pleased, from initial consultation, scheduling, design and implementation!

I have used Environmental Design for a number of projects over the years. Tom has some wonderful creative ideas, the work is always exceptional and the price is fair. I would highly recommend Environmental Design for any outdoor projects, whether stonework or landscaping.

This is our second project with Environmental Design and we won’t hesitate to call them when we need something again. The whole process from quote to finish was seamless. They are so easy to work with and are unbelievably reliable, not to mention their workmanship is outstanding. Thank you for all you have done at our home!
It was a great experience and the outcome of the project is beautiful.
Thomas was phenomenal from the very beginning. I needed my entire front entryway and retaining wall rebuilt. It was a natural stone retaining wall with brick stairs that had been a DIY attempt by the previous homeowner. All of it was falling apart and uneven and needed to be entirely redone. After a thorough conversation where we discussed what I needed and my goals for how I wanted it to look, I had a detailed estimate emailed to me in less than 2 days. When the work began, he was diligent, meticulous and communicative. It is clear that he takes his work seriously and prides himself on providing a professional, long-lasting result. When I noticed a small gap/deterioration of the sand between one of the pavers this spring, Tom came out and patched it the same day. I plan on having him come back to repair/replace my back patio when the time is right.
We hired Tom a year ago to add some life to our landscaping and he did not disappoint! Our home was new construction and had next to zero landscaping. After talking through ideas we had he gave us feedback and his consultative advice with a plan. In the end he lined the back property line with arborvitae and pine trees, installed a patio, retaining wall, 2 gravel parking pads, granite front stairs, and added plant beds along the side and front of the house. We absolutely love the end result and get frequent compliments about how amazing it looks and how high quality it is. We couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend! Photos are after 1 year.
I highly recommend Environmental Design and Landscaping! We have used them for several jobs and will continue to do so. Our retaining wall, sidewalks, beautiful bluestone steps, gravel driveway for extra parking complete with landscaping and lighting, all make our home so inviting when you pull up. The Environmental Design team is easy to work with and they complete every job in a very timely manner. Each project has turned out so much better than we could have expected! Thank you for all you have done
Tom and his team were excellent. Built a beautiful patio for a reasonable price. Highly recommend
The team at environmental landscape and design has done a tremendous job fixing up multiple spaces of our lawn. Tom is very easy to work with, responsive, and executes on the plans we’ve mapped out. Projects were done on time and a year later everything is in good condition. Will always recommend!
We used Environmental Design and Landscaping for a paver patio in our backyard and were thrilled with the result! Tom brought us a great design idea at a reasonable cost, with good recommendations and product options. Tom and Mike were very hard workers, kept the yard and drive very clean, all while enduring a huge heat wave! I would highly recommend Tom and his crew – you will get a finished project to be enjoyed for years to come.
Excellent workmanship. Great pricing. Will use their services every chance I get going forward
Tom was great and our patio/retaining wall came out beautiful. As a new landing area for our deck he knew what exactly what we needed and helped guide the process. We would use him again for any additional projects
Very happy with Thomas. Communicates well. Shows up when he says he will. Works alongside his crew. Actively in the process of booking him again for work in the spring.
After many months of searching for a landscaper, I found Tom Baurle, owner and landscape designer at Environmental Design and Landscaping. I called many others before I found Environmental Design and Landscaping. The others were too busy and didn’t have enough workers, and one never sent an estimate and never returned after coming to my home to talk with me about my needs. Tom came over within a week and listened to me as I explained my vision. I had terrible street appeal with overgrown weeds, two sickly rhododendrons, and smaller pine trees that were never pruned for years and became too tall, hiding much of the front of my house. Tom suggested ripping out everything and started from scratch with new plants and mulch. I kept my Rose of Sharon on one side of the house and he incorporated it in the design. I’m 69 and could never have done all of this work myself. He also cleared out my little “ecosystem” in the backyard. It was a dumping area for yard scraps and stuff since 1993! This area was also overwhelming for me to tackle. After removing all the weeds and “stuff,” he and his staff put down new loam and leveled it. I am thrilled with the results. Best of all, his quote was more than reasonable. We talked about another area of the yard that I want landscaped; around a huge rock. Those plans will be for the spring. I would never call another landscaper to help me. Tom and his team are dependable, thorough, knowledgeable and hard working. I am most impressed by the reasonable cost for this huge project and look forward to future projects with this company
om and his team did an incredible job from start to finish. Tom was super responsive throughout the process, providing us with quotes, pictures, timelines, etc. Tom and his team always showed up when they said they would, and left everything clean and tidy when they were done for the day.
The project they worked on for us was a complete revamp of our landscaping – they ripped out a large amount of old, overgrown bushes left by the previous owners and replaced everything beautifully. While I had an idea of what I wanted, I let Tom choose all of the bushes, shrubs, flowers, etc. and we are very happy with how they turned out. Everything is low maintenance which was important for us! Our neighbors have all remarked, more than once on what a nice job was done.
100% recommend Tom for your design needs!
We are so very pleased with the outstanding job Tom & Mike did on 2 large retaining walls – one involved all of our underground utility lines coming to the house. Their work was expertly done by exceptional professionals. Tom shows up to work when stated, works in a very timely manner and every day left the site neat and clean in day after day of 90 degree heat for all 2 weeks of work. This is a company we wholeheartedly recommend!
Work was done exactly as planned. No doubt in my mind my property value increased by double the project cost. Couldn’t be happier.
